Seems So Bright

www.myspace.com/seemssobright

Formed 2004 in Brooklyn, NY, Seems So Bright is the brainchild of 5 musicians joined by the common goal of putting life aside and giving in to the concept of something new.

With their first self-release, “Resistance”, the band received an enthusiastic response from the local underground music community around New York City and beyond. Highly respected indie blog Music.For-Robots included one of their songs (“Numbers”) on a compilation CD by the same name, and Purevolume.com made them one of their top pick artists of the week.

With a rapidly growing fan base and a shared vision about their music, the band decided to capitalize on this momentum and soon found themselves in the studio again wrapping up a collection of 10 songs. The final mixes were then mastered at Sterling Sound with Greg Calbi, and the LP, which the band proudly refers to as “a culmination of their own identity”, was appropriately titled “Blinds Down” and released on the indie label Invisible DJ.

“Blinds Down” is a guitar driven collection of alt-rock songs infused with a wide range of intelligent electronic elements. This is probably why Seems So Bright’s sound is often compared to Radiohead, circa “The Bends”, or as a darker and more introspective version of older U2. Their songs manage to reach anthemic levels, while always staying true to their very personal, heartfelt lyrics.

Thanks for listening...

Michael Simone, Greg Tuohey, Patrick Lavin, Johnny Turpin, Jochen Rueckert - SSB
