No Lindsay
BIOGRAPHY
No Lindsay is the result of Brooklyn-based melancholy-pop singer-songwriter, Rob Ingersoll (Shapiro). Rob is not your typical bedroom electronica artist. Rob utilizes crude-electronic Casio keyboards, personalized sequencers from early childhood laced with fresh cyber-sounds, and dysphoric vocals to create a roseate atmosphere of learned helplessness and a sense of being comfortable with uncertainty.
No Lindsay was formed in 2003 while Rob was working with Brooklyn-based band Dub Trio. After releasing a limited 2004 EP, "Turn, Smile, & Wave," Rob quickly picked up a first-prize in Billboard Magazine's song competition. Unenthusiastic about this international achievement and more obsessed with turning his off-kilter rhythms and indie space-pop songs into reality, Rob has arrived with a collection of new frenetic and bittersweet melodies, harmonies, and music.
Live, Rob sings over his own melodic beats while playing multiple Casios and controlling other instruments. Occasionally, back-up singer chicks will accompany him.
Coming - vinyl edition of his upcoming 2008 release.
